Chainsaw Man Netflix Web Series Season 1 Episode No 8 Recap And Honest Review

Chainsaw Man Season 1

Episode 8 Recap And Review

Episode 8 of Chainsaw Man begins by showing us the events before and after Himeno climbs on top of Denji and demands sex with Himeno’s perspective. Denji asks if this is a good idea as Himeno undresses him, but he decides to go ahead with it. Himeno finds a strange lollipop in Denji’s pants pocket.

Meanwhile, we get a flashback from the welcome party where Makima tells Denji to get some fresh air. Outside, Makima gives Denji some nausea medicine and sticks the same Himeno lollipop that was found in Denji’s mouth. He doubts that Denji will ever get over the taste of puke, but he won’t have to worry as he will encounter new things to help him not dread the thought of puke.

As for his first indirect kiss, Makima says he can only count her Coke-flavored lollipop. Currently, Denji decides not to get involved with Himeno because he wants to be with Makima. In the morning, Himeno and Denji go out to enjoy their breakfast. Denji tells her not to worry about last night since she didn’t have sex with him.

Denji confirms that he loves Maki and wants him even if he has a terrible personality. Himeno promises to help Denji get together with Makima if he can help him score points with Hayakawa. Denji accepts Himeno’s offer. On the train, one of Makima’s co-workers informs him that they will reach Kyoto in 30 minutes. Makima admits that she doesn’t like meeting Kyoto adults because they are intimidating.

Suddenly, a group of men open fire on Makima and his co-worker. Apparently the criminals are working for another agency as they report that their mission was successful. We get a montage of Denji and the others moving on with their lives. Suddenly, more clients start shooting at their hired Devil Hunters.

At a restaurant, Power, Hayakawa, Himeno, and Denji chat over the noise and discuss what happened between Himeno and Denji. Himeno tells them that because Denji is a gentleman, there was no sex. A nearby customer taunts our heroes, enraging the Force while enjoying their ramen. The gentleman remembers his deceased grandson who worked as a member of the yakuza.

His grandson killed many women and children and spoiled the groom with the money he earned. The man pulls out a picture of him and his grandmother and shows it to Denji. The man mentions that the Gun Devil is after Denji’s heart. He pulls a gun, smashes Denji’s skulls, and shoots everyone. Hayakawa delivers a Power uppercut as Fox Devils out onto the yakuza gentleman.

This leads to a massacre that leaves Denji and Himeno injured. The Fox Demon tells Hayakawa that he doesn’t like the taste of it because he’s neither human nor demon. Mr. Fox breaks out of Devil’s grasp because he has the same powers as Denji, but his swords come out of his head and arms.

Hayakawa and the gentleman exchange blows as some inner beings count Hayakawa’s fatal blows. The gentleman admits a creepy voice as he pleads with the cursed presence of his Hayakawa sword to finish the job. The curse grabs the groom, bites him repeatedly and leaves his body to rot.

Power informs Hayakawa that Himeno needs a doctor. Hayakawa was shocked by the presence of the pistol, as in Japan only Devil Hunters and officers are supposed to carry them. Hayakawa remembers the man who mentioned the Weapon Demon and thinks that he is the reason for his possession of the weapon. Another man arrives before he suggests Power take Himeno to the hospital.

They know that Hayakawa made a deal with the Cursed Demon because they think that getting hit by his sword enough times will cause you to die. The gentleman shoots Hayakawa in the blink of an eye. Himeno asks Power to help her, but Power knows it would be suicide.

Himeno summons the Ghost Devil, but he refuses to deal with them because of the gentleman’s female companion. Himeno promises Ghost Devil that if he can reciprocate a similar attempt, he will give him everything in his blood. As Himeno monologues about death, her time with Hayakawa, and her former Devil Hunter friends, Ghost Devil attacks the gentleman.

At the same time, Himeno is losing parts of her body organs. The woman responds with similar hand gestures and declares that the Serpent has made a pact with Satan. Himeno pleads with Hayakawa that she plans to leave this world. The Woman Serpent orders the Devil to eat the Nightmare Devil. He bites off Ghost Devil’s head.

The episode ends with Hayakawa glancing at Himeno’s outfit as it disappears, signaling her death.

Episode Review

It looks like Chainsaw Man is starting to sharpen its blades with the amount of action and twists sprinkled in this week. Not only have fans been treated to plenty of death flags and surprises, but it looks like our main villain is about to make his dominant presence known to our heroes.

This episode features some breathtaking visuals. Many fans will feel immersed in the world of Chainsaw Man, whether it’s from Hayakawa fighting a swordsman or seeing our characters chatting outdoors. This series delivers an extraordinary amount of realistic action from our cast, making their interactions feel alive and authentic. It is these scenes that make Chainsaw Man a favorite show to watch for many viewers.

While the yakuza were touched upon quite a bit in the first episode, it was surprising to see them turn their heads in this chapter. Given how much emphasis is placed on Makima’s character, he won’t touch anything. I see him walking away from the fight unscathed unlike his companion.

Maybe fans will finally get to see what abilities lie within Makima in the next chapter or two. Not sure about Himeno’s fate. While it would be shocking to see him go out so soon, it would be a buzz. There is still room to further develop and develop Himeno’s character. I’m not sure how they’re going to bring him back due to the Ghost Devil deal, but it would be interesting to see what happens on that front.

All in all, it was a mind-blowing thrill ride. There were some moments in this episode that didn’t need explaining or were dragged on too far. On the other hand, the animation for random and violent events has increased in quality and had an incredible time. Let’s hope our heroes find a way to deal with the Gun Devil’s henchmen and learn more about the villain himself.
